Keep Momentum Going
It’s great to have found traction in your business - you’ve got some quality leads and are even converting them into customers to fill up your pipeline.
But what common mistake do people make at this point? They take their hands of their marketing wheel and hope that the momentum will carry on.
Sometimes this is the case. I know plenty of small local businesses who ply their trade with only the word of mouth generated by satisfied customers.
But this doesn’t work for everyone. Sooner or later, as business starts to get quieter you realise it’s time to crank up the marketing machine again.
The trouble is this is labour intensive. It wastes time and energy. Better to be consistently marketing your product or service alongside running your business to avoid losing momentum.
I get it, it’s hard to think about yourself when you have customers to serve and orders to fulfil, but it is in their best interests too. Think about it: without a consistent flow of leads coming in to convert to customers you have no business.
If you believe you don’t have time to tend to the daily practice of creating content and sharing it through social media channels or your website ask yourself: “Do I want to take time doing the bigger job of prospecting for more customers further down the line?”
It’s like anything worth doing - it takes time. So often we are into the ‘quick fix.’
Building your brand is a process - and building a meaningful brand involves consistently publishing useful, engaging, and interesting content your audience will want to share and come back for more.
So don’t disappoint them, otherwise, they will follow someone else who fulfils their content fix.
